Meet at Macedonia Airport at 5:30 a.m., where we will depart for Tel Aviv via Athens on an Aegean Airlines flight at 7:55 a.m. Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport at 12:50 p.m. and transfer to Jerusalem. Check-in at the hotel. Dinner. Overnight stay.
26/09 FRIDAY: JERUSALEM – BETHANY – HOZEVAS – JERICHO
Breakfast and departure for the city of Bethany, where we will visit the Holy Monastery of Mary and Martha and then enjoy a panoramic view of the Holy Monastery of St. George Hozevas. We continue to the monastery of St. Gerasimos of Jordan, which is referred to as the oldest monastery in Palestine. Our next stop is at the Jordan River for the Blessing of the Waters at the actual site of the Baptism of the Lord. We will visit the monastery of St. Elisha with the sycamore tree of Zacchaeus the tax collector and, crossing the city of Jericho, we will visit Mount Sarantario, where the Lord lived for 40 days in fasting and prayer before beginning His world-saving work. Return to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight stay.
27/09 SATURDAY: BETHLEHEM – TABOR – NAZARETH – CANA
Breakfast. Departure for Upper Galilee to Mount Tabor, the site of the Transfiguration of the Lord. Ascent by taxi to the top of the mountain, where the Greek Orthodox monastery of the Transfiguration of the Savior is located. We head to the Holy Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary in Nazareth. East of Nazareth, on the road to Lake Tiberias, we come across Cana of Galilee, where the Lord performed his first miracle by turning water into wine. Inside the Holy Temple are kept two of the six stone jars from the miracle. On the shore of Lake Tiberias lies the ancient city of Capernaum, which Christ had made the center of his earthly ministry. On the way, we will also see the Mount of Beatitudes. In the southwestern part of the lake is the city of Tiberias. Return to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight stay.
28/09 SUNDAY: JERUSALEM – BETHLEHEM
Attendance at the Divine Liturgy on the Feast of the Cross. Departure for the Bethlehem area. Passing through the Shepherds' Village, we will visit the Holy Monastery of St. Savvas and Abba Theodosius the Coenobite, where the Holy Cave of the Three Magi is located. Visit to the Basilica of the Nativity and worship at the Manger and the cave where the Lord was born. Next visit to the monastery of Simeon the God-Receiver (Katamonas) and the Holy Monastery of the Holy Cross. Return to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight stay.
29/09 MONDAY: JERUSALEM
Breakfast. Visit to the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, where we will be received by His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III. Visit to the Holy Church of the Resurrection, where we will see and worship at the Holy Sepulchre, the Descent from the Cross, the terrible Golgotha, the place where the Holy Cross was found, the Holy Sepulchre, etc. We continue with the Way of the Cross, the Praetorium, the house of the Holy Parents Joachim and Anna, and the Holy Monastery of St. Stephen. Visit to Gethsemane, where we will venerate the Tomb of the Virgin Mary and the Tombs of Joachim and Anna, the parents of the Virgin Mary, and Joseph, the betrothed of Mary. We will visit Mount Zion, the Upper Room, the house of St. John the Theologian, and the Tomb of David. Great Vespers of the Holy Cross. Return to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight stay.
30/09 TUESDAY: BETHLEHEM – LYDA – TEL AVIV – THESSALONIKI
Breakfast and free day in the old city, where you can visit the various small monasteries within the Old City on your own. Transfer to the airport, and visit to the Holy Monastery of St. George the Trophy Bearer on the way. Aegean flight at 22:05 to Thessaloniki. Arrival in Thessaloniki at 00:30.
